A new block was recently constructed, which contains many new facilities for the sixth form students.

The Common Room (Lounge)

The school has invested substantially in a lounge for the sixth form's use. The lounge is the responsibility of the students and 6 students are appointed every year to ensure that it is used in a responsible manner. The purpose of the lounge is to provide a place to relax for short periods each day and to socialise with other students.

The Flexible Learning Centre

This is a quiet room in which to work and sixth form students respect the right of individuals to work there in silence. There is plenty of room in which to work with information on higher education (e.g. college prospectuses, university course handbooks and open day posters) on display.

Video Conferencing Centre

This is used to receive and transmit live video links. In addition to hosting video conferencing lessons, we have plans to contact students in the USA, Europe and countries in the Southern Hemisphere, in order to broaden our students' experiences and to develop active citizenship.

This room is also used to hold meetings, such as the sixth form website group, the sixth form forum and various panels run by the students themselves.

The Careers Room

This room contains abundant information regarding colleges and work. It also contains specialised software for use with careers and higher education enquiries.

Computer Room

This room contains the best computers in the school with broadband internet access. Sixth form students have priority on these machines if lessons are not being delivered.

Sixth Form Manager's Office

As well as housing the registration rooms, the office of the Head of Sixth Form is to be found in the new building. Therefore, it is very convenient for students if they wish to discuss matters which may be causing them some concern. The Sixth Form Manager has an open door policy and students are welcome to discuss matters at any time.

New Sports Hall

Our newly completed sports hall provides the sixth form with a number of exciting opportunities.
